Good evening and welcome to the School of Environment, Natural Resources and Geography
If you’re thinking about studying the environment, you’ve come to the right place.
The School of the Environment and Natural Resources is the outstanding location in the UK for university education in conservation and management of the natural environment. We make extensive use of this in the large field-based practical component of our undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses, and research degrees.
We are ideally situated for studying environmental sciences, geography, conservation and natural resource management. Bangor lies between the mountains and the sea in one of the most beautiful areas in the United Kingdom. Within 15 miles of Bangor are 10 National Nature Reserves comprising 3 mountain sites, 3 woodlands, 3 wetlands and 1 sand dune warren. In addition there is 1 national park, 2 designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 4 heritage coasts, 9 local nature reserves and 83 Sites of Special Scientific Interest. A living laboratory on our doorstep!
We are a friendly School with the highest possible independent rating for the quality of our teaching and a world-class reputation for research. Bangor itself is a compact and convenient University-city with all the facilities you’d expect but within walking distance. The area is also blessed with a low cost of living and a low crime rate!
